Catalogue of Optical Spectra of Oils

Purpose of this data catalogue is to provide a tool for identifying oils in aquatic environments by means of fluorescence spectroscopy. The catalogue includes crude oils, refined products, and some vegetable oils. Basic features of the catalogue are

    • the methods of measuring absorption and fluorescence emission spectra are documented, including calibration procedures,
    • the specific characteristics of a particular sample are recorded in data sheets, including fluorescence and absorption spectra in numerical and graphical form,
    • where available, substances are described by data sheets in which physical and chemical parameters are recorded in general terms.
